TWO WAYS TO STAY AT THE ESTATE

Two worlds.
Your choice.

There is more than one way to stay at Paliopyrgos. Choose the stone farmhouse, with its modern comforts and family memories, or a night in the stable and chicken coop, immersed in the farm’s simple, unhurried rhythm.

THE FARMHOUSE EXPERIENCE

01 / THE STONE FARMHOUSE

A house shaped from stone.
A return to stillness.

The first path leads to Panoraia and Thanasis’s farmhouse, opposite the tower. Step inside its rooms and small details, then wake to a view that makes each morning feel like a discovery.

Stone, light and the feeling of coming home.

The house does not try to separate you from nature. It returns you to it. Stone keeps the rooms cool, the windows bring in light and quiet fills the spaces without leaving them empty.

You do not stay in the tower. Yet the tower remains part of your view—as a presence, a history and a mystery.

The first alarm has wings.

In the morning, you hear roosters, wind among the leaves and the farm already coming to life. Open the windows: the world is not asking anything of you just yet.

There is no traffic, city or hurry. Only olive trees, vines, an open horizon and the luxury of deciding slowly how your day will begin.

Four thousand square metres of freedom.

In the olive grove, among the vines and around the farm, each walk changes with the season. Sometimes there is fruit to find; sometimes only light across the leaves.

Fresh eggs come from the coop, scents rise from the soil and a sense of self-sufficiency grows from things simple, close and real.

When daylight fades, the place keeps its quiet for you.

The day ends without noise. Light softens over the stone and the garden changes colour. It is time for a long conversation, the flames in the low fireplace, or absolutely nothing at all.

Stays are arranged by availability and personal consultation, so every arrival remains just that: personal.

02 / THE STABLE AND CHICKEN COOP

The second choice
follows the rhythm of the farm.

For those seeking closeness to the land without staged comforts, there is a small utility house beside the stable and chicken coop. The story continues below exactly as it is—with its sounds, scents and every practical condition.

Introduction — Grandmother Panoraia with the hens

THE FARM’S MEMORY

When Grandmother Panoraia fed the chickens, she could not have imagined where this little yard would one day lead.

Back then, the two small utility rooms and the chicken coop were simply part of daily life: a place for tools, animal feed, bedding on the floor and the familiar scent of the farm. No furniture, no proper beds, no luxuries—not even a bathroom.

And yet, what no one would have called a holiday became a dream for some. People travel from the other side of the world to spend a night among hens, roosters, feathers and droppings—to let the sounds and scents remind them how close to the earth life can be.

Then they leave and write to tell us they experienced something unique. Perhaps because this experience was never constructed to look like a dream. It is real—and that is what makes it a dream.

THE SECOND STAYING EXPERIENCE

There is another way to experience Paliopyrgos without staying in the stone house: spend the night in the small utility rooms beside the chicken coop. Here, conventional comfort gives way to closeness—the sounds, scents and real rhythm of the farm. This is not standard accommodation, but a simple, immersive rural experience for those who deliberately choose to be within nature.

Do not expect a hotel room. Expect a small door to open onto a world that was not made for you—and may stay with you precisely for that reason.

Two rooms, simple bedding, another measure of life.

The little house has two rooms and is used mainly to store tools and feed for the hens, roosters and rabbits. It is not transformed into a luxury suite; it remains a utility space on a working farm.

Overnight stays are simple, as they once were: mattresses and bedding on the floor, without curated comforts. The heart of the experience is being inside the everyday life of the coop—not looking at it from outside.

No one lowers their voice because you have arrived.

The hens, roosters and rabbits carry on as usual. You hear their clucks and calls, see feathers drift through the light and encounter traces of a life that is neither cleaned up nor staged for visitors.

There is the unmistakable scent of the coop, straw, feathers and, here and there, droppings. If the moment and season allow, you may gather eggs while they are still warm. Nature promises no ceremony; it offers its truth.

The alarm here has wings and a mind of its own.

Before dawn has fully broken, the rooster announces the day. There is no snooze button or soundproof window to mute him. There is the sunrise, the animals beginning to move and the air changing as the earth warms.

For those who love the outdoors, this closeness becomes the rare luxury: not watching the farm from a distance, but hearing its night and morning from within.

Nature has no corridor. It has a path.

There is no bathroom or toilet in the little house. Guests step outside to use the facilities, and an outdoor hose is used for a simple shower. This is a fundamental condition of the stay, not a detail to discover after arrival.

This option suits people who embrace simplicity and can stay without the usual amenities. Before making arrangements, we discuss the practical conditions, season, availability and everything you need to make an informed choice.
